Program
Info & Registration
In Summer 2006, several
Ann Arbor-area swim clubs joined swimmers, leadership and resources
to become a unified Club Wolverine Swimming, serving the needs
of area swimmers from developmental instruction, to age-group
competition to national and international swim experience.
By enrolling in Club
Wolverine Swimming, you become part of a swim program that maximizes
your swim experience with professional, nationally recognized
coaches in highly focused training groups with your peers.

CW Cubs (formerly Swim Development)
The CWCubs program takes young children, 10 years and younger, already comfortable
in the water and teaches them foundational stroke skills until
they are ready to join the 10 & Under program.
10 & Under
The 10
& Under program caters to swimmers under the age of
10, from state team "veterans," to new recruits fresh from a great
summer league experience to kids who have developed beyond local
lesson programs and have yet to compete. Everyone has a place
to swim.
Age
Group
The
Age Group program
covers a similar range of abilities for 11-14 swimmers,
or those in middle school. The CW Age Group program is for
new swimmers just learning competitive skills, nationally
ranked 11-12 and 13-14 athletes, and everyone in between.
Senior
Group
The Senior
Program offers a similar range of training services to high-school-age
and older swimmers. The Senior Program offers practices
for everyone from athletes looking to stay conditioned and
hone their technique for their next high school season to
committed swimmers focused on the sectional, national and
international scene.

“Nowhere
in the country is there such a strong concentration
of coaching knowledge and experience at all levels of the
sport. There is a tradition of Olympic excellence, age-group
excellence, high school swimming excellence and an equally
strong tradition of developmental teaching programs. ...
Surely, the combination of these elements will result in
something special for everyone involved. Every child in
this community will know they have the opportunity to follow
their dream in the sport of swimming."

High Performance
Group
The High Performance
group is coached by Bob Bowman, and caters only to elite athletes
focused on international-level swimming and Olympic dreams.
Practice Groups
for Specific Needs
Swimmers in each of the
above programs are further divided into various practice groups,
each limited in size to maintain effective coach-swimmer relationships
and each comprised of swimmers of similar ability, age, and interests. Each
group has its own attendance, meet participation and skill level
requirements.
Are you interested in
development or competition? For the 10 & Under and Age Group
programs, practice groups are identified as "developmental" (noncompetitive)
or competitive.
Within
the range of CW Swimming training programs offered, Swim Development
is primarily noncompetitive and the High Performance Group is
highly competitive.
Progressive
Skill Levels
Each swimmer's development
is measured by progressive
skill levels separate from programs, practice groups, or age.
The skill levels give swimmers, parents and coaches insight to
specific skill development of each athlete and provide a means
to track their progress.
Program Placement
Our coaches determine
swimmer placement within programs and practice groups. Coaches
always have the best interests of your swimmer in mind when making
this determination. Returning swimmers should receive a communication from the coaching staff detailing group placement for the upcoming season.
Swimmers new to the CW program should review the requirements for each practice group and download the "New Member Registration" forms. Several "Orientation & Evaluation" practices will be offered during the first weeks of the season. These practices will include a parent to parent orientation to CW and an athlete evaluation with coaches. It is common for new swimmers to try several different practice groups before being placed for the season.
