Tyler Clary from UM and CW, set an American record in winning
the 400 IM in 4:02.02. With this swim he broke Ryan Lochte's
record. Clary now holds the American record in the 400 IM in
both short-course yards and meters. Clary also 3rd in the 200
IM and 4th in the 200 fly.
CW swimmers Allison Schmitt and Peter Vanderkaay each won the
400 free on the first day of the Duel in the Pool. They
then each won the 200 free on the second day of competition with a
European All-Star team. The USA won the meet with a score of
185 to 78. The USA is now 4-0 in Duel in the Pool competition
with the previous three wins over Australia.
In addition to these great swims, CW swimmer Alex Vanderkaay
finished 3rd in the 400 IM and 4th in the 200 IM.
The competition will be shown in a two hour special on NBC on
December 27th from 2 - 4 p.m.
