This meet honors former UM swim start Eric Namesnik who died in a car accident over 5 years ago.  Eric was a 2-time Olympic Silver Medalist, UM assistant swim coach, end head coach of Wolverine Aquatics.   He had a vision of combining 3 existing teams in Ann Arbor into one, top to bottom, age group team.  In 2006 his dream was realized with the formation of the current Club Wolverine. This brought together Woverine Aquatics and the tradition laden Ann Arbor Swim Club along with Club Wolverine.  Current age-group swimmers from Club Wolverine will get to compete alongside the top-level swimmers attending this meet.

Club Wolverine begins with swimmers as young as 5 or 6 years old in its Cubs groups and has swimmers all the way up through high school, college and post-college.  Its elite group currently boasts the #1 rated 100 breast stroke swimmer in the world, Barry Murphy. And its 12& Under group recently took 3rd in the State Meet and its 13 & Over group placed 1st.  Finally, in the recent boys high school state meet Club Wolverine swimmers won 8 of the 11 swimming events.  These are swimmers who grew up swimming with Club Wolverine.  For more information on becoming part of Club Wolverine contact us at 734-395-9350.  You can also find information on this website about joining the club.
