If you aren’t yet aware of the “Gold” Cancer Swim Group at CW, you should learn more about this exciting program that Coach Z and the Dowling Family have put together to help area children and teens suffering from the side effects of cancer treatment. (Get more information here – CW Gold Cancer Swim Program).

 

This program is entirely funded through donations so we are forming a team this year at the Big House Big Heart Run, described on www.bighousebigheart.com,  to allow all CW families a chance to raise funds in support of the “Gold” Group and ensure its success.

 

The Big House Big Heart Run is an exciting event because it allows everyone to participate, offering a 10K, 5K or a 1 Mile Fun Run. Runners, Walkers, Wheelchairs, Strollers Welcome! The run takes you through the University of Michigan’s beautiful campus with a spectacular finish--a run through the Big House tunnel and onto the field. You’ll finish on the UM Football Stadium 50 yard line and watch yourself on the Big House Big Screen!   

 

All you have to do is to find friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc… to sponsor you in the run and ALL sponsorship money will go directly to the CW Gold Group (and it’s tax deductible to boot.)   There is an entry fee to participate in the race, but the entry fee is used to support other important local charities including UM ALS research, UM Program for Neurology Research & Discovery, UM Cardiovascular Center and C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital!  Full details on race entry fees can be found at www.bighousebigheart.com

 

If you have a friend that is a runner/walker, go ahead and encourage them to come out and join our team. You can sponsor them instead.
